AS OTHER CANDIDATES HOLD EXCLUSIVE FUNDRAISERS, SOLGA TAKES CAMPAIGN TO THE STREETS
Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania's 148th House District parks 1970s Chevy pickup at neighborhood gathering spots for free, informal fireside chats

LOWER MERION, PA — In a district where political events often come with a price of admission, Democratic candidate Leo Solga is taking a different approach: parking a 1970s blue Chevrolet pickup truck at neighborhood gathering spots and inviting anyone to walk up and talk. No ticket, donor list, or RSVP required.
The tour will include stops at Narberth Park, Miles Park, and additional community locations. Solga will be present and available to discuss any issue on constituents' minds.
The announcement comes as Solga has made democratic access a central theme of his campaign, including his public call for an open primary at the 148th District's Democratic nomination meeting. The truck tour extends that argument into a concrete, daily practice.
While other campaigns are consolidating insider support, Solga is betting on direct voter engagement across the district. "Other candidates in this race are asking people to pay $50 to get in the room," said Solga. "I'll be at the park in an old truck. If you want to talk, come talk. That's it. That's the whole thing."
Solga is a Lower Merion native and University of Pennsylvania graduate running to represent the district where he grew up. He has drafted state legislation that passed committee with Pennsylvania ACLU endorsement, organized the first student union in Penn's history, and served constituents directly in State Representative Mary Jo Daley's district office.
