WHY I'M RUNNING

I begin most days by reciting a verse that you may be familiar with. It goes like this…

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom always to know the difference."

Now, I focus on “courage,” the “courage to change the things I can.” We are here, politically active because we care about the same people and the same streets, schools, and corner stores. We are here because we love Lower Merion, Narberth, and Whitemarsh. And I am here, running for state representative, because my family, my beloved friends, and members of my community have given me the courage to say - things need to change.

Our public transit systems are crumbling, still using regional rail cars from the Nixon Administration. Our public schools suffer under remarkable, unconstitutional inequity. Our reproductive healthcare laws are "hostile," per the Center for Reproductive Rights.

I refuse to shrug. I am running for state representative to build a brighter future, to build a government as good as its people. We deserve the right to movement, education, privacy, and choice. We deserve reliable and accessible public transit, outstanding and equitable public schools, and constitutionally guaranteed reproductive freedoms.

Simply put, I am running to serve you, my neighbor. Politics is personal, and as such, I ought to be personally accessible. Please reach out to me at leo@leosolga.com. I am honored by your consideration.

With love,

Leo Solga
